New Hires
Skywalk Group in Cedar Rapids hired Trisha Metz as sourcing specialist.
Jessica Torre joined Hills Bank as trust compliance officer in the North Liberty.
Casey Baustian started with the Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation as program officer.
Danielle Davis joined KCRG TV as co-anchor for morning news. Davis most recently was an anchor in Peoria, Ill.
Skogman Realty hired Susie Cooper as Realtor.
Dr. Padget Skogman joined Mercy’s Pediatric Inpatient Center as a pediatric hospitalist. Skogman previously was a pediatrician at Mercy Pediatric Clinic in Cedar Rapids.
Promotions
The Linn County Sheriff’s Office promoted Kent Steenblock to the rank of captain. He will be serving as the next assistant jail administrator in the Linn County Correctional Center. Matt Sandvick was appointed to the rank of second deputy-major and will be serving as the next jail administrator in the Linn County Correctional Center.

Ryan Shellady, Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman, joined the Orchestra Iowa board of directors.

Build-out assistance
Applications are open for Race for the Space, a program that gives businesses the chance to win $20,000 toward rent and build-out at a selected property in downtown Cedar Rapids. Selected business also will receive a $7,500 credit for architectural design services with Form Function Studio and a course to build more business provided by BerganKDV. The next Gazette Business Breakfast panel discussion is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday. “What’s Next: The Future of Downtown Cedar Rapids” panelists will talk about lessons learned over the past two years, what’s in the works for downtown and development as inflation and the economy continue to throw curves.
