New hires
Madison P. Huntzinger has joined the Lynch Dallas law firm as an associate attorney focusing on employment law (both public and private sector), municipal law and insurance defense.
Dalton Becker has joined Rinderknecht Associates as a project manager.
Appointments
The Iowa Supreme Court appointed Matt Preston, a partner in the Brady Preston Gronlund law firm in Cedar Rapids, to a task force undertaking a comprehensive review of Iowa’s Rules of Civil Procedure. Preston also has been elected to the Board of Governors of the Linn County Bar Association.
CSPS recently added several new members to its board: Ron Corbett, Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance; Annie Hardin, Lederer Weston Craig law firm; and Paul Julius, retired teacher and principal.

Eric Briesemeister, CEO of the UnityPoint Health-Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa, has been named to Becker's Hospital Review’s 2024 “90 Critical Access Hospital CEOs to Know” list. The leaders featured on the list were cited for high quality of care, patient safety and financial stability.

Marion Chamber annual meeting: The Marion Chamber of Commerce will host its 87th annual meeting at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 30 at Epic Event Center, 2987 Epic Dr. in Marion, followed by networking from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available through Oct. 25 at marioncc.org/annual-meeting
Dau Jok, executive director of diversity, equity and inclusion for West Des Moines Community Schools, will be the keynote speaker. The program also will include remarks from 2023-24 Board Chair Chris Wheeler, incoming Board Chair Cydney Lovell and Chamber President Jill Ackerman.
Small business of the week: U.S. Sen. Joni Ernst. R-Iowa, last week named Greenfield Dental of Adair County as her small business of the week.
Dr. Ryan Frost graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2018 and began work at Greenfield Family Dentistry. In 2020, he became the owner and merged with Nodaway Valley Dental to establish Greenfield Dental in southwest Iowa.
He expanded the practice from four workspaces to 11 and invested in 3D X-ray imaging technology, which enabled Greenfield Dental to provide same-day emergency care, in-office root canals and dental implant procedures.
Ernst, the ranking member on the Senate’s Small Business Committee, is naming one exceptional small business of the week in each of Iowa’s counties during this congressional session.
