New hires
Sarah Doyle, ARNP, has joined the Mercy Hematology/Oncology Clinic at the Hall-Perrine Cancer Center.
Skywalk Group hired John Lammers as a senior recruiter.
Kudos
Two University of Iowa businesses placed first and won $5,000 each at the Pappajohn Student Entrepreneurial Venture Competition held virtually April 28. Michelle Higgins won the Medical Technology division with her business, AugmENT, is a simulation technology company that advances the skills of ear, nose, throat, and head and neck surgeons. Jon Barns won the Interstate Commerce division with his business, Arblu. Barns created a telescoping ski pole that snowboarders extend when they need to maintain momentum in flat areas. When it isn’t needed, the pole retracts to be stored on a forearm or thigh.
Events
LEADERSHIP OF FIVE SEASONS ANNIVERSARY: Leadership for Five Seasons will celebrate its 40th anniversary June 1, with all alumni invited to attend. The event will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in downtown Cedar Rapids from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Registration is at https://tinyurl.com/mryd8mtn. Cost is $60 per person, with a share of the proceeds going to the organization’s youth program.
