Apprenticeships

WELDING PROGRAM: New Leader Manufacturing, at 1330 76th Ave, SW in Cedar Rapids, is beginning a registered welding apprenticeship program for youths, the first of its kind in Eastern Iowa and one of eight that will become available in the Corridor this year.

The program — offered in partnership with the Iowa Department of Education and the Grant Wood Area Education Agency — will provide students the opportunity for hands-on welding experience with a mentor welder at the company. For information on how to apply, visit newleader.com.
