Awards
Cedar Rapids' Hotel at Kirkwood Center earned the American Automobile Association's Four Diamond Award for lodging. It is now one of only two Four Diamond rated hotels in Iowa.
The Masonry Institute of Iowa singled out the best buildings in Iowa and the people who built them to honor with its Architectural Design Awards. Among the Eastern Iowa award winners were Student Center at Northeast Iowa Community College, Calmar, INVISION Architecture, Waterloo, Award of Merit; and AXO (Alpha Chi Omega Sorority House), Iowa City, Coralville Public Library, Neumann Monson Architects, Iowa City, Special Mention.
