Alliant Credit Union and its division Health Services Credit Union was ranked first in Iowa and eighth in the nation for its overall return to members. The ranking, by Callahan & Associates of Washington, D.C., was for its second-quarter results that included 18 calculations.
HR Green Inc. and its client, the city of Coralville, have received the 2011 Outstanding Civil Engineering Project Achievement Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers Iowa Section. The award was conferred upon the First Avenue Corridor Recovery and Protection Project in Coralville.

The Better Business Bureau announced two local businesses were approved and accepted for BBB Accreditation - Nelson Cabinets Inc. in Center Point and DW Brown websites based in North Liberty.
Hogan-Hansen announced the purchase of the Duane Brincks CPA firm in Algona, effective Oct. 1. All current staff will remain with Hogan Hansen, and the firm will maintain the current office location in Algona.

The Cedar Rapids Section IEEE WIE & Eastern Iowa Consultants will host Tim Dwight, Integrated Power Corp. owner, who will present “The Solar Energy Market and Applications,” at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Metro Buffet, 2745 Blairs Ferry Road NE, Cedar Rapids.
