Bite Squad restaurant delivery service to launch Friday in Cedar Rapids

A Minneapolis-based on-demand restaurant delivery service will launch in Cedar Rapids on Friday.

An app-based mobile food delivery service, Bite Squad partners with more than 10,000 restaurants across more than 300 cities to deliver fresh food to the customer's door.

Customers in its Cedar Rapids service area can order Bite Squad seven days a week, from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Orders can be placed on the Bite Squad app or website, go.bitesquad.com/cedarrapids.

Delivery fees start at $2.99.

'We choose Cedar Rapids because of the great restaurant selection,” said Liz Sniegocki, media relations manager of the six-year-old company. 'Bite Squad is built on the backs of great restaurants, so we are excited to come to a community with such a great diversity of choices.”

Bite Squad has 25 local and chain restaurants signed on, including El Rancho Mexican Restaurant, Bushwood Sports Bar and Grill, Roscoe's Pizza, Runt's Munchies, Saucy Focaccia, Red Ginger, Wasabi, Butcher Block Steakhouse, Zio Johno's Spaghetti House and Lucita's Diner.

Delivery will be available within a seven-mile radius of participating restaurant partners.

On this Friday through Sunday, customers in the new delivery area who place an order will be eligible for a one-year free-delivery promotion to Bite Squad's subscription-based service.
