Big Rockwell Collins order from Chinese airline announced at Singapore Air Show

A major contract to supply key avionics systems for 47 new jets to one of China's largest airlines is among Rockwell Collins' major announcements at the Singapore Air Show that begins Tuesday.
Hainan Airlines selected Rockwell Collins' WXR-2100 MultiScan Threat Detection System, GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver and six other systems for 47 new Airbus 320s. Deliveries under the contract are already under way.
The GLU-925 is the first multi-mode receiver certified for precision landing using either Global Navigation Satellite Systems or Instrument Landing Systems. The MultiScan Threat Detection System is a fully automatic, hands-free airborne radar system.
Rockwell Collins has had a strong relationship with Hainan Airlines spanning 20 years, according to T.C. Chan, Rockwell Collins vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific.
Rockwell Collins also announced the completion of major avionics upgrade program for the Royal Thai Air Force C-130 Hercules aircraft fleet in a program led by Thai Aviation Industries. The five-year program upgrade the cockpit and avionics on 12 of the huge C-130 cargo aircraft.
The Singapore Air Show that begins tomorrow is Asia's largest aerospace and defense show. It marked the first exhibition of Rockwell Collins' PAVES 3 inflight entertainment system in the Asia-Pacific market.
Rockwell Collins' also exhibited its new ProLine Fusion integrated avionics system that is set to debut later in 2012 installed on a commercial aircraft. It has already been selected on more than ten new aircraft platforms.
Signing ceremonies were planned Tuesday with China-based aircraft leasing company, ICBC Leasing and Singapore-based aircraft leasing company BOC Aviation for orders of Rockwell Collins' WXR-2100 MultiScan Threat Detection System and GLU-925 Multi-Mode Receiver for new aircraft.
