BBB reports results of Shred It Day

On October 8, 2011 in the parking lot of the Guaranty Bank Building in Cedar Rapids the Better Business Bureau(BBB), Document Destruction & Recycling Services, Guaranty Bank, KCRG-TV, KMRY Radio, Downtown District and City Revealed sponsored a Shred It Day event. Hard working volunteers greeted 299 cars in 240 minutes and 8.8 tons of paper were shredded!

Millions of Americans have become victims of ID theft in recent years, resulting in the loss of billions of dollars. The majority of ID theft occurs when the thief has direct contact with the victim's personal information, through a stolen or lost wallet, rifling through a personal mailbox or trash can, or even lifting documents from inside a home or business. The problem shows no signs of slowing down and the BBB is proud to sponsor this special event and be a part of the solution.
