Alliant Energy unit plans new wind farm in Franklin County

Alliant Energy's Interstate Power & Light has sold wind turbines and land rights for a planned 100-megawatt wind farm in Franklin County to another Alliant Energy unit that will develop it as a non-regulated wind energy project.
A unit of Alliant Energy Resources acquired 100 megawtts of Vestas wind turbines and land rights for the project for $115 million, Alliant Energy Chairman Bill Harvey told analysts on Thursday as the company discussed its second quarter earnings.
