CEDAR RAPIDS -- Construction has begun on a new branch office of Alliant Credit Union near Coe College.
A fall opening is planned for the 3,108-square-foot full service location at 1305 First Ave. SE. It will include drive-up teller lanes, a 24-hour depository ATM, lock boxes and free off-street parking.
With the new branch, Alliant Credit Union will have two locations in Cedar Rapids. It will continue to operate the office in the Alliant Tower at 200 First St. SE.
Mike Moroney, president and chief executive officer of Alliant Credit Union, said the financial institution is excited about the new venture.
"Members have asked for added convenience, and we believe this branch will deliver," Moroney said. "Besides its location, drive-up features, parking and lock boxes, members will continue to receive the service to which they've become accustomed."
Alliant Credit Union also has offices at 1200 Associates Dr., 1402 White St. and 250 Mercy Dr. in Dubuque. On March 31, the credit union posted assets of $92.7 million, loans of $62 .3 million, investments of $23.9 million and more than 9,300 members.
