$4.8 Million Awarded to Iowa City Airport
The Iowa City Municipal Airport will receive $4.8 million dollars to acquire land for approaches. The funds will come from the U.S Department of Transportation's grant program according to Congressman Dave Loebsack's office.
Congressman Loebsack said "This funding will allow the Iowa City Municipal Airport to make important, necessary improvements, which will help increase economic development opportunities in the community."
The funding will be used to purchase land in the Runway Protection Zone and continue to protect the airport operations area.
