After 54 years, 1,323 wins and three state championships, Bob Bunting stepped down as softball coach at Lisbon High School.

The Gazette’s 2023 Female Athlete of the Year is Peyton Robinson of Lisbon. She captured 16 varsity letters, won a state track and field relay title and has played in (at least) four state softball tournaments. She will play volleyball at Wartburg College.

Lisbon managed only three hits, but got the clutch one late in a 4-3 Class 2A regional softball semifinal win over Alburnett.
