[Women's Basketball] Greiner, Mims land first-team honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Mount Mercy junior guards Emily Greiner and Micha Mims were named first-team all-conference by a vote of league coaches when the Midwest Collegiate Conference announced its 2010-11 women's basketball honors today.

Greiner and Mims were among 18 women's basketball players named first-team or honorable mention all-conference. Grand View's Jennifer Jorgensen was named MCC Player of the Year, Clarke's Brittany Collier was voted MCC Newcomer of the Year, and Krista Van Hauen of St. Ambrose was honored as MCC Coach of the Year.

Greiner was Mount Mercy's leading scorer at 16.2 points per game, which ranked fourth in the league. She was second in the MCC in 3-pointers (82) and third in free throw percentage (84.6%). Greiner finished the season just 31 points shy of the 1,000-point mark and moved into fifth on Mount Mercy's career list for 3-pointers made (160).

Mims was second on the team and eighth in the league in scoring at 13.8 points per contest. She led the MCC in 3-point percentage (46.8%) and ranked third in the conference in assists (3.57 apg), steals (2.36 spg), and 3-point field goals (66). Mims ended the season in 10th place on Mount Mercy's career list with 105 3-pointers, and her career 3-point percentage (42.5%) is second in school history.
