Tri-Rivers Conference releases all-conference boys’ basketball teams
North Linn’s Mason Bechen and Clinton Prince of Peace’s Hakeal Powell are players of the year in their respective divisions

CEDAR RAPIDS - Mason Bechen of North Linn and Hakeal Powell of Clinton Prince of Peace have been selected as players of the year in their respective divisions, the Tri-Rivers Conference has announced.
Bechen is a senior guard who set the school record for single-season points. Senior guard Powell averaged 33.2 points per game.
Alburnett’s Jeff Christopherson is the Coach of the Year in the West Division, Bellevue Marquette’s Isaac Sturm the Coach of the Year in the East Division.
Joining Bechen on the West Division first team are North Linn teammate Cole Griffith, Matthew Neighbor, Caiden Bueckers and Laken Caves of Alburnett, Matthew Klostermann of Central City, Brady Wall of Maquoketa Valley and Evan Haefner of Springville.
Powell is joined on the East Division first team by Bellevue Marquette’s Spencer Roeder, Jacob Litterer and Eli Scott, Lisbon’s Grayson Wollum and Daylin Schaefer, and Chase Klatt of Calamus-Wheatland.
Marquette won the East Division championship. North Linn and Alburnett shared the West Division crowd.
