'Iowa State is a little short-handed right now, that's not a secret,” Oklahoma Coach Sherri Coale told OU's athletics website. 'They've had a rough year with off-the-floor stuff and our thoughts and prayers are with them. But I loved the way we trusted one another today. Offensively, we trusted one another to be at the right place at the right time, and defensively we trusted one another and helped, and I thought the connectedness we showed today was the biggest difference.”
Iowa State had just six assists to 17 turnovers.
Oklahoma's bench out-scored Iowa State's, 26-0.
Sooner senior Kaylon Williams had a career-high 32 points on 13-of-14 shooting for Oklahoma (19-9, 10-7). Petyon Little added 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Sooners out-rebounded the Cyclones 37-26 and had a 42-20 scoring advantage in the paint.
Iowa State wraps up its regular season at 7 p.m. Tuesday against West Virginia (21-8, 10-6) at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. It will be Senior Night, with Maddy Baier and Kidd Blaskowsky set to be honored.
The Big 12 women's basketball tournament starts Friday in Oklahoma City, Okla. Iowa State is entrenched in eighth place and will play the ninth seed, currently Texas Tech (11-16, 2-14) at 6 p.m.
