IOWA CITY - Is there a rank higher than number one? If so, give it to Iowa City West.
“They're an awfully, awfully good basketball team,” Dubuque Senior Coach Wendell Eimers said after his seventh-ranked club was clubbed by the Trojans, 68-48, Tuesday night. “They took it to us. They were, without a doubt, the No. 1 team in the state tonight. They did a lot of good things on both ends of the floor.”
At least enough to give notoriously hard-to-please Coach Steve Bergman a look of relative contentment following this one.
