Montezuma’s Eddie Burgess highlights All-SICL boys’ basketball team
Braves senior averaged 16.7 points and 15.9 rebounds in 2021-22 season

CEDAR RAPIDS — Montezuma’s Eddie Burgess is a repeat first-teamer on the All-South Iowa Cedar League boys’ basketball team.
The senior post and multi-sport star averaged 16.7 points and 15.9 rerbounds this season for the Braves. He is headed to Upper Iowa University to play football.
Other first-teamers were Belle Plaine’s Ben Demeulenaere, Lynnville-Sully’s Connor Maston, English Valley’s Kaden Hall, Iowa Valley’s Brody Ward and Peyton Loffer and North Mahaska’s Nash Smith and Lane Harmon.
Smith, Harmon and Maston are juniors, the rest seniors.
Randy Carney of Iowa Valley is the Coach of the Year in the league. He led the Tigers to a school-record 18 victories this season.
