[Men's Basketball] Mount Mercy men move up six spots this week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The Mount Mercy men's basketball team gained six spots in the national rankings this week, moving up to No. 16 in the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll.
The Mustangs, who were 22nd in last week's rating, are 10-2 overall and 2-1 in the Midwest Collegiate Conference after a 79-78 win over William Penn and 96-83 defeat of Clarke last week at Hennessey Recreation Center. With 196 points, Mount Mercy is right behind No. 15 Southeastern (Fla.) (202 pts.) and ahead of No. 17 Warner Pacific (Ore.) (187 pts.). Northwood (Fla.) (6-1, 372 pts.) regained the top spot in the poll this week.
Mount Mercy has one game left before the Christmas break. The Mustangs go to Fulton, Mo., on Saturday to face William Woods (Mo.) at 2:00 p.m.
