MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Mount Mercy's Sam Kenyi, who averaged better than 15 points and 13 rebounds per game, has been named the Midwest Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 28.
It's the second such award for Kenyi, a senior forward who was the MCC Player of the Week last season for the Mustangs. He scored 12 points and grabbed six rebounds in a 67-54 victory at Trinity Christian (Ill.), then put up 19 points and a career-high 20 boards in an 81-78 loss to Midland (Neb.). His rebounding total was fifth-highest in school history.
Mount Mercy (8-1), which won its first eight games of the season for the first time in school history, opens conference play this weekend against Grand View at 3:00 p.m. in Des Moines.
