Kenzie Reed of Cedar Rapids Kennedy named boys’ basketball Player of the Year in MVC Valley Division
Other unanimous picks for first team include Kennedy’s Colby Dolphin, C.R. Washington’s Traijan Sain and Iowa City West’s Pete Moe

CEDAR RAPIDS — Kenzie Reed of Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Trey Campbell of Cedar Falls have been named boys’ basketball players of the year in their respective divisions of the Mississippi Valley Conference, it has been announced.
Junior guard Reed averaged 12.4 points per game for Kennedy, which has qualified for the state tournament in Class 4A. He led 4A in assists at seven per game.
Senior guard Campbell is a Northern Iowa signee who led the Mississippi Division in scoring (24.1) and assists (4.2). He also averaged 6.1 rebounds per game, which placed him fourth in the division.
Reed and Campbell were two of six unanimous selections for the all-conference teams in their divisions. Kennedy’s Colby Dolphin, Dubuque Hempstead’s Cameron Fens and Iowa City West’s Pete Moe were unanimous all-Valley Division, with Cedar Rapids Washington’s Traijan Sain unanimous in the Mississippi Division.
Fens and Moe are seniors, Sain and Dolphin juniors.
The rest of the all-Mississippi Division team is Gabe Burkle and Jake Walter of Cedar Rapids Prairie, DaShon Fisher of Iowa City Liberty, Jaxson Young of Linn-Mar, Dallas Bear of Cedar Falls and Duke Faley of Dubuque Wahlert. Burkle, Walter and Young are seniors, Fisher, Bear and Faley are juniors.
In the Valley Division, the other first-team picks are Ayrondus Hodges of Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Aidan Yamilkoski of Cedar Rapids Xavier, Kellen Strohmeyer of Hempstead and Si’Marion Anderson of Waterloo West. Hodges and Strohmeyer are seniors, Anderson and Yamilkoski are juniors.
The Coaches of the Year are Jon McKowen and staff at Cedar Rapids Kennedy in the Valley Division and Ryan Schulz and staff of Cedar Falls in the Mississippi Division.
