Mar. 15, 2012 8:19 pm
Take a bow Iowa fans who attended Tuesday's NIT game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
Iowa's attendance for its 84-75 win against Dayton was astounding when compared with other NIT games. In fact, no other arena was within 4,600 fans of Iowa in the NIT's first round.
"It was a great atmosphere and it was something that I'll always remember," Iowa senior Matt Gatens said. "We appreciate that."
Iowa's announced attendance was a legitimate 13,190. Next best was Arizona, which lost to Bucknell, at 8,433. Third was Savannah State at Tennessee (6,289) and fourth was LSU at Oregon (5,158).
