The Class 4A Iowa high school girls’ state basketball tournament field is set after Tuesday night’s regional finals. Here’s a look at Tuesday’s games and the state bracket and schedule released by the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union.
The state tournament is next week at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Tuesday’s Class 4A Iowa high school girls’ basketball regional finals
No. 1 Clear Creek Amana 68, Keokuk 35
Top-ranked CCA (23-0) secured back-to-back state tournament appearances and will pursue its first victory there in its third appearance next week. Keokuk closed at 19-4.
No. 2 Waverly-Shell Rock 43, No. 14 Western Dubuque 37
Waverly-Shell Rock (23-0) trailed 10-9 after the first quarter and led by just a point (20-19) at the half, but held off the Bobcats (17-7). WSR will make its third trip to state in five years.
No. 3 Sioux City Heelan 50, Winterset 21
This one was never in doubt. Heelan (22-1) built a 31-7 halftime advantage and still had the Huskies (12-12) in single-digits after three at 44-9. The Crusaders, runners-up in 2022 and semifinalists a season ago, qualified for the third straight year.
No. 4 Dallas Center-Grimes 58, No. 13 Pella 45
Reigning champion Dallas Center-Grimes (20-3) earned its third win over Little Hawkeye Conference rival Pella (16-7) this month to return to state for the fourth year in a row.
No. 5 North Polk 49, No. 11 Maquoketa 42
North Polk (22-2) closed the game on a 14-4 run over the last six minutes to stave off Maquoketa (20-4). The Comets were state runners-up last season; the Cardinals were seeking their first state tournament bid.
Gilbert 60, Cedar Rapids Xavier 57 (OT)
The game of the night was the only game between unranked teams, with host Gilbert (15-9) prevailing to advance to the state tournament for the first time since 2020. Xavier (10-14) led 44-38 after three.

No. 8 Council Bluffs Lewis Central 53, No. 9 Norwalk 49
The 8-9 game was predictably close, but host Lewis Central (19-4) maintained the lead after each quarter. The Titans are state bound for the first time since 2020; the Warriors wrap up at 18-5.
