Howell not interested in boys' job at Washington

CEDAR RAPIDS -- Frank Howell said Monday he will likely pass on applying for the boys' basketball coaching job at Cedar Rapids Washington.
"I don't think I have any interest," Howell said. "I see it as a lateral move."
The vacancy arose Friday, when Brad Metzger announced his resignation as boys' basketball coach. He took the Warriors to state twice in his four years, but suffered through a winless campaign last winter.
