Metro boys
Marion 59, Williamsburg 50
The Marion Indians held off a comeback attempt by the Williamsburg Raiders, 59-50, Friday night at Marion.
Marion (6-7) led 36-27 at half, but had the lead cut to 48-47 with five minutes to play.
Chase Zielke led the Indians with 22 points.
Lucas Schlesselman had 25 points for Williamsburg (6-6).
Waterloo West 60, Cedar Rapids Washington 46
Isaiah Johnson scored 20 points for the Wahawks (8-4) at home.
Mick McCurry and Max Campbell each scored eight points for Washington (5-8).
Cedar Rapids Jefferson 70, Iowa City High 34
The J-Hawks led just 25-18 at the half, but exploded in the final 16 minutes at home.
Willie Guy led a balanced attack with 13 points for Jefferson (6-7). Kyler Bell, Raejzuan Shockley and Blaze Bouzek each added nine points.
Carter Westlake and Keshawn Christian each had nine points for Iowa City High (3-9).
Dubuque Senior 63, Linn-Mar 50
Carter Stevens had 19 points for Senior (9-4) at home.
Jacob Robertson and Trey Hutcheson had nine points for Linn-Mar (6-5).
Bellevue Marquette 76, Cedar Valley Christian 22
The rematch was a little closer than the original (80-16), but the Mohawks dominated in Bellevue.
Danny Koos, Blayne Banowetz and Will Draus each scored 13 points for Marquette (8-8).
Kyle Gustafson had 18 points for Cedar Valley Christian (2-15).
4A No. 10 Cedar Falls 70, Cedar Rapids Kennedy 50
When you knock off No. 1, you wonder how you're going to respond in your next game.
Cedar Falls boys' basketball coach Ryan Schultz did. The answer turned out to be really, really well.
The Tigers continued their surge, leading virtually all the way in a 70-50 win Friday night at Cedar Rapids Kennedy

5A No. 12 Cedar Rapids Washington 78, Waterloo West 36
The Warriors had a big 29-8 advantage in the third quarter at Washington.
Sammy Mia had 17 points, Caitlin Riley had 16 points, Vanessa Eniola had 14 points and seven rebounds and Isa Truemper added 12 points for Washington (8-5).
Dubuque Hempstead 55, 4A No. 10 Cedar Rapids Xavier 46
Morgan Krug had 16 points to lead the Mustangs at Xavier.
Kaylie Springer and Madison Fleckenstein each added 13 point for Hempstead (12-3).
Caitylnn Daniels had 14 points for Xavier (8-8).
Dubuque Senior 49, Linn-Mar 46
Both teams drained nine 3-pointers at Linn-Mar.
Macey Miller and Megan Murphy each hit three 3-pointers for Linn-Mar (2-13).
5A No. 1 Iowa City High 85, Cedar Rapids Jefferson 49
The top-ranked Little Hawks raced out to a 33-14 lead after one quarter in Iowa City.
Ashley Joens had 29 points to pace City (14-0). Aubrey Joens added 18 points.
Erica Oler led Jefferson (5-10) with 15 points.
4A No. 1 Marion 85, Williamsburg 20
The top-ranked Indians rolled at Williamsburg.
Leah Van Weelden and Kayba Laube each had 14 points, and Chloe Rice and Caitlyn Smith each had 13 points for Marion (15-0).
Charlotte Wetjen had six points to lead Williamsburg (4-12).
2A No. 7 Iowa City Regina 62, North Cedar 33
Mary Crompton had 20 points on six 3-pointers as Regina rolled at North Cedar
Alex Wiese added 10 points and Kennedy Wallace had nine points for Regina (11-3).
Bellevue Marquette 62, Cedar Valley Christian 41
Annika Frank scored 24 points to lead Bellevue Marquette.
Maggie Cach and Molly Hembera each had 13 points for CVC (8-9).
5A No. 3 Iowa City West 58, 5A No. 10 Cedar Rapids Prairie 53
West was able to hold off Prairie in a non-conference girls' basketball game between the Mississippi Valley Conference rivals Friday night at West High School.
Friday's game marked challenge No. 3 of a seven-game stretch in which all of West's opponents are ranked. It gets no easier in the near future.
