[Basketball] Greiner, Coleman claim basketball honors

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Senior guard Emily Greiner and junior forward Alex Coleman have been named the Midwest Collegiate Conference basketball players of the week for Nov. 14.
Greiner averaged 28.3 points per game in three wins last week, including a 64-56 upset of top-ranked and two-time defending national champion Northwestern. She poured in a career-high 33 points against Culver-Stockton (Mo.), then added 26 points against previously unbeaten Bethel (Ind.) and Northwestern.
Greiner was 20-of-46 from the field overall, including a 14-of-31 performance from 3-point range that moved her into fourth place on Mount Mercy's career list. She also went 31-of-37 at the free throw line while averaging 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals per contest.
Coleman put up 17 points and 11.3 rebounds per outing as the unbeaten Mustang men moved to 5-0. His breakout week included 11 points and 11 boards against Culver-Stockton. Coleman was the Most Valuable Player at Iowa Wesleyan's Kiwanis Classic, scoring 12 points and grabbing seven rebounds versus Trinity International (Ill.) and adding 28 points and 16 boards against Judson (Ill.).
Coleman shot 15-of-30 from the floor and was 5-of-10 from beyond the arc for the Mustangs. On the season, he is nearly averaging a double-double, posting 13.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest.
