Iowa high school boys’ basketball rankings: A new No. 1 in Class 2A
Boyden-Hull takes over from Monticello for the top spot

CEDAR RAPIDS — Boyden-Hull assumed the top spot in Class 2A in this week’s Associated Press boys’ basketball poll.
The Comets (16-1) took over No. 1 from Monticello (16-1), which lost its first game of the season to East Dubuque (Ill.) in a weekend tournament. East Dubuque has a 15-5 record.
Mid-Prairie (17-0) is the lone unbeaten team in 2A and checks in second this week. Western Christian is third, Monticello fourth and Central Lyon fifth.
Williamsburg (15-2) is eighth.
The other No. 1 teams remain the same: Ames (12-1) in Class 4A, Fort Madison (18-0) in 3A and Grand View Christian (21-0) in 1A.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy (12-4) moved up a spot in 4A, from fifth to fourth. Iowa City West (11-2) went from 10th to seventh.
Decorah (15-1) picked up one first-place vote in Class 3A and is second. Washington (14-2) is fourth and Marion (14-3) seventh.
North Linn remained third in Class 1A.
