Muscatine pulled away in the third quarter and went on to beat Cedar Rapids Kennedy, 65-58, in a Class 4A boys basketball substate semifinal. The Cougars finished 15-8 despite being very young and very undersized, though the future looks very good.

There are 16 boys basketball substate final games on tap in the state of Iowa on Saturday. That would be eight each in Class 1A and 2A. Those 16 winners qualify for the state tournament.
