Iowa high school softball 2021: 16 Gazette area players to watch

Sixteen Gazette area players to watch for the 2021 Iowa high school softball season. Statistics and honors posted are from 2020.

Ella Cook, sr., Iowa City High — Batted .333 with six doubles and seven home runs. Scored 33 runs and drove in 23. Compiled an 8-0 pitching mark with a 4.10 ERA. Struck out 53 and walked 24 in 56 1/3 innings. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.

Kellie Dallmeyer, sr., Washington (Iowa) — Batted .396 with six doubles. Scored 27 runs and drove in 24. Class 4A 2nd-team all-state.

Mya Dodge, sr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Batted .383, with 13 doubles and nine home runs. Scored 33 runs and drove in 36. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.

Peyton Driscoll, soph., Williamsburg — Compiled a 16-4 pitching mark with a 1.28 ERA. Struck out 194 and walked 39 in 137 innings. Batted .300. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Stacia Hall, sr., Lisbon — Batted .459 with 13 doubles. Scored 27 runs and drove in 32. Class 1A 1st-team all-state.

Alyse Harvey, sr., Benton Community — Batted .524 with six doubles and three home runs. Scored 24 runs and drove in 25. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Heather Heims, sr., West Delaware — Batted .482 with 13 doubles and six home runs. Scored 28 runs and drove in 34. Class 4A 1st-team all-state.

Nicki Henson, sr., West Branch — Batted .500 and scored 15 runs. Class 2A 1st-team all-state.

Carey Koenig, sr., Iowa City High — Batted .484 with seven doubles and 12 home runs. Scored 29 runs and drove in 37. Class 5A 1st-team all-state.

Ayana Lindsey, sr., Iowa City High — Batted .500 with six doubles and 12 home runs. Scored 39 runs and drove in 31, with 18 stolen bases. Compiled an 8-5 pitching record with a 2.25 ERA. Struck out 75 batters and walked 29. Class 5A 1st-team all-state.

Kya Loffswold, sr., Cedar Rapids Xavier — Batted .413 with three doubles. Walked 20 times. Scored 32 runs and drove in eight. Class 4A 2nd-team all-state.

Kara Maiers, sr., Iowa City Liberty — Compiled a 10-3 pitching record with a 0.76 ERA. Struck out 155 and walked 42 in 92 1/3 innings. Class 5A 1st-team all-state.

Peyton Robinson, soph., Lisbon — Batted .494 with three home runs. Scored 34 runs and drove in 28. Stole 15 bases. Class 1A 1st-team all-state.

Jayme Scheck, sr., Cedar Rapids Kennedy — Went 8-0 with a 0.67 ERA. Struck out 59 and walked 10 in 52 innings. Class 5A 1st-team all-state.

Jenna Sprague, jr., Mount Vernon — Compiled a 15-4 pitching record with a 1.53 ERA. Struck out 87 and walked 23 in 110 innings. Batted .361 with 10 RBIs. Class 3A 1st-team all-state.

Aliyah Walker, sr., Cedar Rapids Jefferson — Batted .397 with four doubles. Scored 12 runs and drove in 19. Class 5A 2nd-team all-state.
