Here are the final Class 4A and 3A rankings by the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Cedar Rapids Xavier graduate Mitch Keller was named Sunday to the National League team playing in July 11th’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Seattle. The Pittsburgh Pirates right-handed pitcher is the first C.R. native to be an all-star and is Iowa’s first all-star since 2014.

The five Female finalists for Gazette Athlete of the Year 2023: Cassidy Hartman of Iowa City Liberty, Nia Howard of Springville, Peyton Robinson of Lisbon, Alivia Schulte of West Delaware and Devin Simon of Cascade.

The five Male finalists for Gazette Athlete of the Year 2023: Ben Kueter of Iowa City High, Aidan McDermott of Cedar Rapids Xavier, Alex Mota of Marion, Tate Petersen of Monticello and Miles Thompson of Cedar Rapids Washington.

Less than a day after getting swept by Cedar Falls, Class 4A No. 2 Cedar Rapids Prairie rebounded to sweep 3A No. 1 Western Dubuque in a battle of Mississippi Valley Conference division leaders.
