Maddie Harris decided to concentrate on volleyball when she arrived at Coe. After two years, she couldn’t resist a return to the softball diamond and the other sport she loves.

He reached bases in all six plate appearances, scored four runs and drove in another in Cornell’s 19-8 route of rival Coe.
Iowa baseball couldn’t conjure up a timely hit for a big inning and gave up three runs in the final two innings, allowing Nebraska to claim a 6-4 victory in the third and final game of the weekend series.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced Tuesday that Sioux City and Carroll will host state baseball tournaments in 2025. Sioux City welcomes Class 4A and 3A, while Carroll will be the site for Class 2A and 1A through 2028.
The Iowa high school state softball tournament will become a double-elimination affair, beginning in 2026. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released the news Friday morning.
The nonprofit softball and baseball complex near Marion considered an economic driver.
School leaders are considering ways to finance an indoor athletic complex and other program dreams.
