Lisbon softball coach Bob Bunting earns career win No. 1,300 Friday
Lions, ranked No. 3 in Class 2A, rout West Central in first round of the Jesup Tournament

JESUP -- Lisbon softball coach Bob Bunting earned his 1,300th career victory Friday morning, when the Lions routed West Central, 16-0, in the first round of the Jesup Tournament.
Bunting, 78, owns a career mark of 1,300-652 in 54 seasons, all at Lisbon. His current team is 11-2 and ranked No. 3 in Class 2A.
He has taken 11 teams to state, and the Lions are favored to extend their current state streak to five in July. They won three consecutive 1A state titles from 1994 through 1996.
Bunting ranks No. 7 nationally in career wins. All six coaches ahead of him coached in Iowa.
