[Baseball] Hotchkiss, Turner grab league awards

MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa -- Mount Mercy swept the Midwest Collegiate Conference baseball awards this week as Phil Hotchkiss and Kevin Turner were named Pitcher and Player of the Week for March 5.
Hotchkiss, a junior right-hander, received no decision but threw nine scoreless innings while allowing just three hits and striking out four in a 1-0 loss at Baker (Kan.) on Friday. Turner, a senior first baseman, batted .526 in five games for the Mustangs. He was 10-for-19 at the plate with a pair of doubles, two runs scored and a run batted in.
Mount Mercy (9-9) has four games coming up at Graceland this weekend in Lamoni.
