5 Kernels named to Midwest League All-Star Game

The Cedar Rapids Kernels have five players who have been selected to participate in the 51st Midwest League All-Star Classic. The game is June 23 at Peoria's Dozer Park.
Trey Vavra has been named a starter at first base for the West team. Vavra, on the disabled list with an ankle injury, is hitting .346 with six home runs and 28 RBIs.
Also selected via a vote of managers in the division are pitchers Felix Jorge, Jared Wilson, Cam Booser and Trevor Hildenberger.
Jorge is 3-2 with a 2.62 earned run average in nine starts, Wilson 4-1 with a 3.12 ERA in nine games, eight starts. Wilson was officially re-assigned to the Kernels from high-Class A Fort Myers Thursday, with starting pitcher Stephen Gonsalves transferred from Cedar Rapids to Fort Myers.
Booser and Hildenberger are relief pitchers. Booser is 1-0 with five saves and a 0.77 ERA in 15 appearances, Hildenberger is 2-1 with five saves and a 0.31 ERA.
