Illness postpones two Orchestra Iowa events

Two upcoming concerts in Orchestra Iowa’s Beethoven Sonatas Series are being postponed because the musician became ill.

Pianist Stewart Goodyear was to perform Sunday at Voxman Concert Hall in Iowa City and Tuesday at the Opus Concert Cafe in Cedar Rapids.

Orchestra Iowa said it was working with Goodyear to reschedule the show and announce new dates later.

“We thank you for your understanding, and we wish Mr. Goodyear good rest and a return to full health,” the orchestra said.

Goodyear, whose album “Phoenix” was released earlier this month, did not mention his illness in his recent posts of Twitter and Facebook.
