"Every Disney production takes everyone on a trip that is classical and elegant," Oak View Group general manager Jason Anderson said while calling from his Coralville office. "It's such a cool, inviting experience with an iconic brand that never goes out of style. It's always a multi-generational event for families and we have a really special show this time. The storylines are great, and we have some amazing princesses out on the ice"
"Into the Magic" takes families on a high sea adventure as Moana sets sail on a life-changing quest to help save her island with help of demi-God Maui. With the ice floor transformed into the vast ocean seascape, "Disney on Ice" allows Moana's strength and determination to take center stage. The audience connects with Moana, who discovers that one's true identity is always within reach.
Journey across the Marigold bridge with Miguel from Pixar's "Coco" into a mystical "Land of the Dead." Discover a colorful performance with skeletons in a beautiful cultural celebration of family.
Familiar production numbers invite fans into the world of "Beauty and the Beast" as Belle demonstrates what it's like to be fearless. Along with her new friends in the enchanted castle, Belle is encouraged to step or skate outside of the ordinary and find joy, regardless of the situation.
It's always a heartwarming scene when Belle sees beyond the gruff exterior of the Beast where she finds a gentle heart. It's always a moving performance by Disney's favorite princesses.
Such strong female characters as Cinderella, Elsa and Rapunzel are also part of the production.
"Aside from having such amazing characters, the production is huge," Anderson said. "There's cool lights and pyro."
The Disney On Ice shows connect not just with kids but adults as well. "That's significant," Anderson said. "Children will be excited watching their favorite characters perform. The kids will be in awe but the parents will be entertained as well."
