Best Bets: Walker Pickle Days

Walker will be in a pickle this weekend - but in a dilly of a way. The city's annual Pickle Days celebration gets underway today with a blood drive from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church Hall, then jumps over to an 8 p.m. Movie in the Park showing of 'Ferdinand,” with popcorn, drinks and ice cream available. Festivities continue Friday evening with a pickle party in the form of fried pickles, preliminary rounds of the pickle-eating contest and a pickle barrel toss. Pickle-eating contests continue Saturday, as well as a 5K, music, games, food, 6 p.m. parade, talent show, raffle, rides and fireworks at the ballpark.
