Herbert Hoover's descendants will be in his hometown this weekend as West Branch celebrates the life of the only U.S. president born in Iowa. Along with food, games, music, a Saturday morning parade and finale fireworks, one of the annual highlights is the National Hoover-Ball Championships, where teams hurl a weighted medicine ball over a net. It's the game that helped keep Hoover in shape during his White House years. Admission to the Hoover Library will be free on Saturday, and Iowa Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg will speak at the Life Celebration at 1 p.m. Saturday at the National Historic Site.
