There are a lot of bowls. Luckily for the bowls, there is a pretty minimal requirement for being bowl-eligible. You only need to go 6-6. Even if one of those wins is against an FCS team. In fact, you can go 4-6 vs. teams from BCS conferences and go to a bowl.

So, the bar isn't set all that high. Especially if you're, say, a Meineke Car Care Bowl of Texas. Or the Charlotte game formerly known as the Meineke Car Care Bowl.
