The Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame was devastated in 2008 when the Cedar River overflowed its banks and almost completely submerged the building it calls home at Ellis Park in Southwest Cedar Rapids.
Rick Sampson, a 1993 inductee into the C.R. Softball Hall of Fame, narrates this video of the damage suffered after the 2008 flood and how the organization will need help and support to rebuild its collection of softball memorabilia, including photos, trophies and other items.
Watch for a story later this week documenting the status of the C.R. Softball Hall of Fame and its efforts to restore the home and treasures lost in the flood.
