Union head: A normally exceptional year

According to Mike Dick, it's a normally abnormal summer for softball and rain.
"It's pretty similar to 1993 and 2008," said Dick, the executive director for the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. "Compared to those extreme years, it's a normal years. Compared to normal years, this is an exception."
Dick said more schools in Iowa have invested in tarps, and most of the games that have been postponed have gotten made up.
"You've got to give the athletics directors and the coaches credit," he said. "They've done the best they can possibly do."
