Triple Overtime Thriller!

That pretty much describes Sunday's Iowa women's game against Penn State. You can read John Riehl's story on the game here.

Many Hawkeyes brought their A game to Carver-Hawkeye Arena including Kristi Smith, Megan Skouby, Wendy Ausdemore. Wow, I rattled those names right off the top of my head! I must be getting to be a regular covering the Iowa women.

The star of the game definitely was Kachine Alexander. Who can argue with 26 points, 21 rebounds, 10 assists.

For the second half and part of the overtime periods, I shot with a 300mm and a 1.4 converter from my position in the press gallery. I was looking to come back with something more than shooting from the baselines at floor level. I was using The Gazette's strobes that are mounted in the catwalk above the floor so I wasn't concerned with not having enough light to use the teleconverter. I was shooting at ISO 200 at 1/320 and F5.0. 

Towards the end of the game, I made my way down to the floor to be in position for any reaction photos to come from this seesaw game. I turned off the strobes and upped my exposure to be able to motor drive frames at the end of the game.
