A trial has been scheduled next month for an Iowa City woman accused running over and killing a friend.
Online court records say 50-year-old Miranda Lalla is charged with vehicular homicide while driving intoxicated. She's pleaded not guilty.
The Iowa City Press-Citizen says Lalla's trial is scheduled to begin on Sept. 11.
Police say Lalla was driving Pamela Gross home on June 17 when they got into an argument and began fighting in a parking lot.
Police say the driver's side door was still open when Lalla got back in her truck and backed up. The door hit Gross, knocking her to the ground. The truck then ran over Gross, killing her.
