State duck calling contest next weekend

The Mississippi Valley Callers Association will host the 13th Annual Mississippi Valley Calling Classic on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at the Pzazz Resort and Hotel in Burlington.
Starting at 8:30 a.m., the divisions will include the 2011 Iowa State Duck Calling Contest, the Mississippi Valley Youth Duck Calling Contest (open to those ages 16 and under), a goose calling contest and the Bernie Boyle Regional Duck Calling Contest.
“When it comes to waterfowl calling, we have the best right here in Iowa. Five of the last 10 World Champion Duck Callers have been Iowans,” said Ron Vorwerk, a charter member of the sponsoring organization.
