Spencer claims Iowa career home run record

WATERLOO -- Jadyn Spencer is the new queen of clout in Iowa softball.
Spencer, a senior at Waterloo West, hit her 50th and 51st career home runs as the Wahawks swept Linn-Mar, 9-0 and 7-2, in a Mississippi Valley Conferene double-header Tuesday.
A University of Alabama recruit, Spencer entered Tuesday's action tied with former North Polk star Sammy Snygg for the career homer mark at 49.
Spencer lined the first pitch in the bottom of the first inning of Game 2 over the fence in left field, and the record belonged to her.
She pitched a no-hitter in the first game.
