Solon win streak comes to an end at 35

It was a good run. OK, it was a heck of a run.
The Solon boys' basketball team had a 35-game win streak snapped Tuesday night by Mid-Prairie, 55-52, at Solon. The previous time the Spartans, who had just jumped into the No. 1 spot in the Class 2A state rankings, tasted defeat was in the state tournament semifinals in 2008.
Solon (7-1), of course, had an undefeated season in 2008-09 that culiminated with a Class 2A state championship. Terrific all-around athlete Tanner Miller lead Mid-Prairie (4-2) with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
