Sarah Johnson Wendlandt, 94, of Lubbock, Texas, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died March 9, 2021.
She was the daughter of Ralph W. Johnson and Cecile G. Johnson. Sarah graduated from McKinley High School and Coe College, where she
was a member of Chi Omega sorority. After earning a master's degree in speech pathology from the University of Iowa, she began a decades-long teaching career at Grant Wood School in Cedar Rapids. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Following her retirement, she moved to Lubbock where she enjoyed living with her sister and staying active in her local church.
Sarah is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ellen and Tom Caughey of Harrington Park, N.J.: grandson, Andrew Caughey (Sujin Yean) of Portland, Ore.; and granddaughter, Hannah Caughey of Seattle, Wash.
A celebration of her life will be held in August in Lubbock.
