Randy Barry Tyler, 66, of Cedar Rapids, passed away
Friday, June 4, 2021, at Mercy Medical Center. Celebration of Life services will be
10:30 a.m. Friday, June 11, at The Sanctuary Church, located at 912 18th Ave. SW, with burial to follow in First Presbyterian Church Cemetery near Ely. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 10, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, located at 2121 Bowling St. SW.
Randy was born April 4, 1955, in Loris, S.C., the son of Archie Chalmers and Flora Mae (Graham) Tyler. Randy served in the U.S. Navy from August 1973 until August 1976. He was united in marriage to Gail Erenberger Yoss on Feb. 24, 1996, in Tabor City, N.C. Randy worked in 49 of the 50 States, doing industrial construction and safety. He enjoyed traveling, writing poetry, drawing and studying history.
Randy is survived his wife, Gail; daughter, Aunna Tyler of Solon; stepdaughter, Kristy (Brandon) Schrock of North Liberty; stepson, Jason (Tammy) Yoss of Foley, Minn.; six grandchildren, Bo, Aidan, Dylan, Brody, Jayla and Drew; his sister, Carole (Robbie) Shepard of Charlotte, N.C.; his nephew, Evan Tyler; great-nephew, Samuel Shepard; his mother-in-law, Rosemary Erenberger; and his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joni (Don) Herdliska, Mike (Kathy) Erenberger, Dave (Susan) Erenberger, Dan (Mary) Erenberger, Glen (Cindy) Erenberger and their children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jan Tyler; his brother, Greg Tyler; and a nephew, Toby Shepard.
