Iowa City police are searching for two men who are believed to have stolen a car Thursday morning and are wanted on other charges.
On Thursday, a 20-year-old woman reported to police that she let a friend and a friend of his stay at her apartment overnight. When the woman woke up, 21-year-old Keethan R. Roland and 21-year-old Mack D. Blumingburg – and her car, a 2006 blue Nissan Altima with Iowa plate 292MPF – were gone.
In addition to pending charges related to the theft of the car, police said Roland and Blumingburg are wanted on warrants issued by the Iowa Department of Corrections for probation violation and absence from custody. Iowa City Police Sgt. Vicki Lalla said the men are Hope House residents. Hope House is a residential correctional facility in Coralville.
Lalla said police do not know where the men might be heading in the stolen car.
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of these men. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 319-358-8477.
