Patricia E. (Shaffer) Atwater, 87, passed away at the Living Center West Nursing Home in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 28, the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, with Rebecca
Robinson presiding. Inurnment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of the Last Supper.
Patricia was born on Jan. 6, 1934, in Detroit, Mich. She was the daughter of the late Russell H. and Elizabeth H. (Errington) Shaffer. On June 8, 1957, Patricia married the love of her life, Jobie D. Atwater in Manchester, Iowa. Patricia enjoyed sewing, playing music and loved to travel.
Those left to cherish Patricia's memory are her children, Sara (Ken) Huss of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jo Goodwin of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jay Atwater of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; grandchildren, Brooke, Aubrey, Ashley, Andi Jo and Alyssa; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Jobie; her parents; and her siblings, Charles Shaffer, Barbara Blattner and Margaret Conner.
Memorial contributions maybe made in Patricia's name to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Living Center West for all of their care and support of Patricia while she was in their care.
